Harthouse Releaseinformation:
Joel Mull – 31 years young, endlessly talented, and one of the
most versatile techno producers and DJs Sweden has to offer. With over
25 years experience making music – he started to play the piano when
he was six – Joel was converted to electronic music in the early
Nineties. Being taught how to mix and lay down tracks in his lunch
break – by no-one else but soon-to-be-famous DJ and producer Adam
Beyer through whom he would also get to know Peter Benisch and Jesper
Dahlbäck he’d form the now legendary Globe Studio with – was the
starting point of an outstanding international career. With a huge
output on an enormous range of labels, such as Inside, Primevil, Music
Man, Turbo, and Kanzleramt, amongst others, Joel propelled himself at
the forefront of things. His newest outing which fits perfectly into
the profile of the renowned Frankfurt imprint Harthouse consists of
two diametrical deep tech tracks that stand out of the crowd: The
heavier and darker A side delivers the power to set off into a long
night full of surprises, while the flip's spaced-out deep-tech grooves
should get the crowd into a higher state of consciousness with its
tricky arrangements.
A: „Stepping“ Clicky beats and a gnarling bass serve as an opener
for this deep, techy groove monster whose true virtues are the
fascinating soundscapes which grow out of a perfectly suited mainfloor
beast that captures with frizzy basses and heavily delayed effects.
B: “Sleeping” A happy melody slowly emerges like a rising sun,
shining through a layer of echoed filters that covers up the relaxed
but relentlessly foggy groove that takes the listener on a journey
while weirdly squeaking noises drift into the foreground and engage
the mind while the body dances away on bouncing basses |
