Harthouse releaseinformation:
Gui Boratto –Hardly any Brazilian artist has gained as much reputation in the past year as Sao Paulo-based
architect, musician, composer and producer Gui Boratto whose spatial and mystical take on music has made him one of the most sought-after producers
around. With his versatile releases on labels as varied as Speicher, Kompakt Pop,
Circle, Killabeat and Plastic City, Gui, whose production skills have long seen him lend hands to acts and singers like Mano
Chao, Garth Brooks, Steel Pulse, Desiree, Fernanda Porto,
Kaleidoscópio, Pato Banton, Gal Costa, Chico Buarque and Leila Pinheiro, has managed to push himself to the forefront of things in no time when he decided to exclusively focus on his solo career in 2005. Dedicating himself to develop his own distinctive style, playfully light yet driving
techhouse, Gui enchants people all around the world, “Atol 2007” being a wonderful example of his masterful
craftsmanship. Based on a beautiful melody that light-heartedly carries through the
night, this record leaves an impact, especially on those looking for spirited club
sounds. Backed up with two powerful remixes by some of the most talented and demanded producers around - Frankfurt acid trance techno gods Hardfloor and Circle’s Alex Flatner -, this new Boratto record on the renowned Harthouse imprint should be going down a
treat.
A1: “Atol (Hardfloor Remix)” Legendary acid masters
Hardfloor, forever in the Hall of Fame for a classic track called “Acperience”, were spearheading an early Nineties techno movement in Frankfurt that would be christened the name Frankfurt
Techno. Their percussion-driven remix is reminiscent of this time by allowing a great deal of acid modulation to simmer through the driving beat construct that leaves little but the original synth lead that
trickles, melts and morphs into the amazing 303 driven synthline that twists and turns just as spaciously as the original. Wipes the floor and should have people hugging when the sun comes up.
B1: “Atol (Alex Flatner Remix)” Circle label boss Alex Flatner is on a heavier tip and gives us hard hitting stabs and thumping
basses. And as if this wasn’t already enough, he firmly places the luscious lead in a twisted electro environment that wakes up the rebellious party
spirit.
B2:: “Atol 2007” Wide and spatial sounds create the atmosphere of this positively resonating deeptech glider that builds on the light tones of an introverted yet happy melody that create a feeling of
joy. Bouncing on light n sweet chord cascades and whirling across synthetically soothing synth scapes consisting of wavering pads and luscious
sweeps, this track with its subliminally elevating power lifts spirit and
body.
